In this video, Part 3 of Hollie’s Disney World Planning tips we discuss what to bring with you in the Disney World park bag. These are excellent strategies for first timers but even if you’re not new to Disney, these tips will be helpful in planning your Disney day!
The first thing to bring to the parks is, Comfortable Shoes! I logged 52 miles of walking on my last trip. But if you do get blisters, all four parks have first aid centers.
Tip 2, Things you need to pack in your park bag.
You definitely need to pack your poncho. It rains almost daily in Orlando and is also great for riding water rides. Also bring a pair of dry socks in case your shoes get wet. I like to bring a resort towel, wrapped around a frozen water bottle. The towel wicks to condensation from the bottle and is useful for wiping your hands, tables, seats, etc. Keeping a water bottle in your bag is a good idea for when you are rushing to a ride or waiting in a line for an attractions.
If you plan to have an alcoholic drink, you better bring your drivers license and if you have one, an annual pass. Having a few dollars cash can also come in handy at times even if you are using your magic bands for purchases. You definitely need to pack the sunscreen! Sometimes I pack a small ziplock bag if I have a dining reservation. Sometimes the portions can be a bit big and I don’t want to ride rollercoasters on a full stomach! I put whatever I don’t eat in the bag and take it back to the resort and have it for a late night snack.
The more people you have in your party, the more you will have to pack, but I recommend keeping everything in 1 bag. This makes getting through security quicker and it’s easier to keep up with throughout the day.
Tip 3, If you will be bringing a stroller, be sure that you can fold and unfold it quickly so that you don’t hold others up.
Tip 4, make your stroller easy to identify by tying pom-poms, a sign or a balloon to the handle. Castmembers move strollers around to make room for others making it hard to locate.
One of the most important things to bring with you to the parks is your MAGIC BANDS. I have nightmares about getting to the parks and having left my magic band in the resort room.
I hope these tips have been helpful! There are many other things that people bring to the parks however, I like to travel light! I pack the minimum of items to travel to Disney and I certainly want the bag I carry around all day to be lightweight.
